Good Friends Compare/Contrast to Bad Friends(CRR)

The whole idea of having a good friend is to have someone there with you. That person should be there with you through good times and bad times. A good friend is someone that supports you, has your back, and just holds it down through any situation. Also, and good real friend will make fun of you, and how you look. Just someone who you can be yourself with. A good friend is honest and just tells you everything how it is. Most importantly loyalty, a friend that is loyal is the hardest you can find in my generation. A good friend won't talk negativity about you around other groups of people. They will only talk positively things about you. Instead if there is something negative as a " good friend" they will come to you personally and tell you. A bad friend  is a person who pretends to be your friend then when times get hard  they disappear. A bad friend chooses to talk negatively about you. A bad Friend is some one who isn't your back bone.  And just someone who you cannot trust. It's sad because in my generation a lot of people act just like this. Either someone is fighting or having a aruguement due to having bad friends and their actions. This is why most of the time I'm always alone. Not because I'm Anit-social but just because I observe people's actions and learn from them. It makes me realize how people really are towards people they call their "friends" which makes me just be alone. I feel like dealing with conflicts like this is really irrelevant. There are more important things in my opinion than worrying about if someone is your friend or not. Such as, school, goals, and dreams that you want to achieve in your life. Cause at the end of the day no one is your real friend other than yourself. Being friends with yourself is probably the realist relationships you can ever have.

Sleeping (FC)

Sleeping is probably the thing that everyone is best at doing. While I’m sleeping I feel as if I’m floating in the air and think and do whatever I want. The best thing about sleeping is the dreams you have while you’re asleep. The worst part is waking up, I feel like I never want to leave my bed or continue my day. I learned that being well rested is important because it reflects on your behavior and knowledge of the day. Also, I've learned that too much sleep can increase a possibility of a disease. While researching, I read that both sleeping too much and sleeping too little are linked to elevated risks of chronic disease in middle-aged adults. This really surprised me because most of the time in the weekends, I tend to sleep a lot. Due to my lack of sleep during the weekdays up studying for an exam, or even doing homework. I believe being well rested relives stress towards anything. But the fact that sleeping too much can risk a disease disappointed me very much. In the weekdays, I try to take naps before starting my homework because I feel like for me to concentrate better and improve my brain needs to be well rested after eight hours of nonstop work in school. The only problem with this is, at night when I really need to go to sleep I can’t because of the naps I've been taking. Then my sleeping schedule will end up getting mixed up, and I will end up being exhausted in school not able to do anything. But so far, sleeping has helped me physically because I’m more active and on point with everything, especially when it comes to starting my homework. I really love sleeping and I feel like it has made my behavior better because I’m well rested and not always cranky.

Little Rock Nine (CRR)

In class, we were reading an article about the Little Rock Nine which were a group of African American students who enrolled in Little Rock Central High School in 1957. Their enrollment was followed by the Little Rock Crisis, in which the students were prevented from going to a racially segregated school. They had the right to speak up about their opinions, and about entering this high school. I believe they did the right thing because by doing this it can reflect on their future and of others. I will never understand why this was happening. Just because of your color of skin you’re not permitted to do what others of different color skin can do. I believe that we are all the same. The only thing different is our accents and color of skin. I don't think all of this was necessary, if there behaved well and have good grades then why not let them attend your high school? That question will always be wondering in my head. In the article, they compare this situation to other things that happened in history such as, Martin Luther king, and how he expressed his dreams of segregation not happening, and of Rosa Parks. How she stood up as a black women of not giving up her seat. The best part about this article that grabbed my attention is how they didn't give up on trying entering this school. They tried and tired and finally got what they wanted. This showed me that in life to get what you want you need to fight for fight, no matter how long it takes or how hard it is to always keep trying. I believe that this article had changed other people’s point of views. Such as kids that don’t believe in themselves and tend to give up all the time. But this article shows otherwise, and even changed my point of views as a student attending high school.

Bullying (CRR)

In class, we was all watching a movie about Bullying. In this movie it shows examples of different types of kids and their experiences with bullying. This movie really touched me because the examples they were showing was very disturbing and hurtful. I could never imagine myself going through an experience like this. I don't judge the actions some of the kids had due to bullying. Some couldn't take more than others. Its either you commit suicide or stand up for yourself. The suicidal reactions is what really hurt me the most because bullying has gotten to an extent that kids are really taking their lives because of this. I don't know how it feels to be under that type of pressure to just take your life. I just hoped that they could just express their feelings to their families and not let it all build it so that it can get to that point of taking your life. I personally blame the school board and the teachers because if you observe what the kids are doing to other kids you should do something about it and take it serious just due to the fact that you don't know how far a child can take their feelings towards this happening to them. I feel like bullying in general should just stop, these poor kids that have no fault in anything are being pressured for taking their life FOR NO ABSOLUTE REASON. Just because of another child. I personally feel like the Police should get involved in this and talk to these immature kids that are pressuring innocent ones into a stage that they don't need to be in mentally and physically. Also, half of these kids are under the age of 13, they don't have a strong mentality to go through this type of conflict. Having families suffering just because of a CHILD. If  the Police was to get involved in this and explain in details of the consequences that can happen due to bullying, I believe this would've stopped a long time ago. People aren't taking this serious, and this why kids are thinking or even committing suicide so frequently. Watching this movie really opened my eyes and it made me think that my problems are nothing compared to what these young minded kids are thinking. Suffering and getting treated bad everyday, seven times a week, for eight hours a day is alot of pressure and negative feelings you have to build on.

Learning how to ride my bike (FC)

When I learned how to ride a bike I was between the ages of seven or eight. While I was learning how to ride a bike, I found it very difficult for myself especially because I never rode a bike with out the training wheels on them. So maintaining my balance was the most difficult part. Some people that I know or a few of my friends took them all about two weeks to learn with hard practice, I learned within two days of hard work. I would usually practice with my mom or dad. We would go to the park or to a free open space with lots of grass just in case if I fell I wouldn't get hurt as badly. The first day of training was horrible I kept on falling, as a young girl I was very negative towards the obstacles that I could achieve. Meaning that while I was training, I felt like giving up and never  trying to learn how to ride a bike again, but my parents are very supportive towards everything and anything I do. So with there help, I gained my confidence back and worked even harder. Within hours of practice I already had the hang of riding bike, but had a few things to fix. The next day, I went to the park again and when I first got on the bike that day I fell automatically. Once again I lost my faith and confidence so I wanted to give up, my mom said "Try one more time" . So when finally I gave it a second try and I was riding the bike with great balance and I didn't fall. I was so reliefed and excited , I was in denial I couldn't believe that I knew how to ride a bike without my training wheels. At the time, at such a young age this meant a lot to me. If it wasn't for my mothers support I would've never gained back my confidence to learn how to ride a bike. In the future, I will do the same with my children, I will help them learn and support them through everything and anything. Just like how my parents did with me.

Memories as a young girl (FC)

My memories as a young girl, some were great and some we're horrible. The great times has to be when I was in kindergarten I had a lot of friends to play different games with. I felt comfortable around everyone as the school in general. I loved my teacher and the way she used to explains this to the students to have a better understanding of the lesson. Till this day, I still have communication with her, and she gives me good advice on how to achieve my goals and how to do well in high school, as well in college.

Reading (PB)

When I was in the 5th grade, my teacher assigned my entire class to read higher level chapter books. Ever since my first book which was called "The curious incident of the dog in the night time". I fell in love with reading books. Whenever I get the chance I always will read a book. My favorite types of books are mysterious books; it keeps me interested and more to expect from the book on what's going to happen next. Another favorite book of mine is, romance such as the play "Romeo and Juliet. I just enjoy how Shakespeare put it together, and made a clear point of what "love" really is. Another favorite book of mine is action books, such as Harry Potter. I love the climax and the endings of every Harry Potter book; it ends with a Romantic scene or tragedy. Lastly, I love love love comedy books, the best thing that can attract attention is making me laugh. It makes me even enjoy books even more as I used to back in elementary school. Another reason why books are one of my passions is because while I'm reading I feel calm, and just in a different mindset. I feel more educated when I read books, I also feel like it helps my vocabulary. This helps for my English class because there are new words that she teaches and I will understand them just because I read books and it improves my spelling and vocabulary skills. In the future, I would love to introduce all of these great books to my children so that they can start working on their vocabulary from a young age just like me.

FC My Obsession

My favorite thing to do is to shop online. I think I have an addiction to online shopping. There isn't one day that I don't go on the internet and start buying things that I sometimes don't even need.

Indroducing (FC)

Hi, my name is love I am 17 years old I am currently attending high school at Thurgood Marshall Academy. I am in the 11th grade. I was born and raised in New York. I love this city and don't think I would ever move out of it. I am definitely thinking about going to college as well in New York. I love school, it is very important to me just because it has to do allot with my future. I plan on being a Registered Nurse, and having a degree in medicine. I love to go shopping with my friends and family. I also like sports as well such as basketball and baseball. My favorite subject in school is English and Anatomy. I enjoy learning new things about the human body each day that I go in class. I also feel like it would help me in the future as my career in being a Registered Nurse. I also always feel motivated when I go into school just because I’m learning different things every new day.  I have a small job after school downtown in 72 st in a store called urban outfitters. Just something to keep me busy instead of being home. I come from a family of four. My mother is a police officer and my dad is a manager of an apartment building. Lastly, my little brother, he is eight years old in the 3rd grade. I always help him with his homework when needed. My brother also wants a future in medicine, his dream it to become a doctor.  My entire family originally comes from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and France. I plan on going to each of these places to visit family I have never visited or met before.
